She is one of the sweetest persons I know and one of my best friends, and when I was moving to Oslo and starting college she sent me a present and a lovely card to wish me good luck! I really appreciated that, and now she's starting college in a few days and I wanted to do something for her! So Tes, I really hope you will like what you find under the cut! I've written it especially for you, and I don't know if it's good or not, but I hope you will like it anyway, at least I think you will like the characters ;)
Tes, I wish you very much good luck at college, I know you will do great sweetie! I'm so happy you're my friend and I love you so much! *hugs*
And now...
Title: The Morning After
Characters: Nathan and Haley (One Tree Hill)
Spoilers: The story takes place after s3. And one particular incident at the very end of 322 never happened.
Author's Note: This story is really short and really fluffy, but a little NH-fluff can't hurt, right? ;)
THE MORNING AFTER
Sometimes, if you’ve been sleeping somewhere you don’t usually sleep, there is this moment right after you wake up, where you just don’t understand where you are. For a moment, you feel totally confused and you keep trying to figure it out, but your brain just doesn’t respond at first. But suddenly you realise it. And sometimes you sink back in the bed with a sigh, wishing you were some place else. While other times there are no place else you would rather be.
Nathan Scott had one of these mornings. He opened his eyes slowly and looked up at a ceiling that was completely unfamiliar to him. This wasn’t his and Haley’s room. And it wasn’t his room at his mother’s house. Or Lucas’s room. Or any other room he knew. He blinked a few times, and struggled to get fully awake.
The room was a mess. Two big suitcases were standing right next to the door. There were clothes everywhere on the floor. His own clothes and Haley’s clothes. And suddenly, as a huge grin appeared on his face, Nathan remembered everything.
Yesterday had been the most amazing day in his life. His wedding day. His second wedding day actually. Both days had been so perfect. The first day because that was the day that Haley became his wife, and he became the happiest man alive. The second day because finally his whole world could see how much he and Haley loved each other and because he and Haley were finally together again for good. There had been too much drama, but he knew that this time, nothing or no one could separate him and Haley again.
He turned his head and looked at her. She was still sleeping. Nathan smiled and realised once again how beautiful she was. The most beautiful girl he’d ever seen. It had taken him a while to discover that, when he first met her she was just Lucas’s friend and back then that was reason enough not to like her. But once he started to get to know her it didn’t take long before he saw her in a whole different light. And now he couldn’t imagine his life without her.
He liked to watch Haley sleep, so he made no attempt to wake her up. Not just yet anyway. And she probably needed as much sleep as she could get, yesterday had been a pretty stressful day. First the wedding, which had been perfect. His whole family was there, and everyone was happy. Even his mum had been happy for him. He had never told her, but the fact the she disapproved of him and Haley getting married the first time had been hard. He had been angry with her – but also sad, because she didn’t seem to understand how much he needed Haley. But now she did, and she had even tried to help him save his marriage when things had been at their worst.
After the ceremony there had been speeches and food and dancing and Nathan hadn’t been able to stop smiling. He loved their first wedding, it had been really special, but seeing all these people, friends and family, and how happy they all were for him and Haley – that was special too. It felt like everything was finally falling into place. They had been through a rough year, with many ups and downs, but this wedding was like a new start. It was time to leave the past behind and concentrate on the future, and that was what he intended to do.
They arrived in
Haley started to move, and Nathan watched her waking up. At first she had that confused expression that he figured he had as well when he woke up, but then she seemed to remember and she turned her head and their eyes met. They didn’t need words to explain what they felt, the other one already knew.
Nathan leaned over and kissed her softly, before he pulled back to look at her again.
“I love you, Haley James Scott”, he whispered, smiling as he said it. He knew Haley liked using his last name, and he liked it too.
“I love you too, Nathan Scott”, she whispered back before pulling him with her under the duvet, into their own little world of love and happiness.
THE END

Date: 2006-09-08 09:30 am (UTC)It does feel we been waiting forever. I've been waiting to see what happened to Nathan. I really want to see that and haley crying was breaking my heart to. I can't believe the show has made us wait until now. :P Do they actually realise it's hard to wait for things like this? :P
and I think we will get some NH moments from what happened to Nathan, since he's going to need Haley alot.
btw, it's okay you made me cry. It was happy tears anyway ;) I was just in completely shock from it :)

Date: 2006-09-08 04:28 pm (UTC)I'm not sure they realise how hard it actually is! Imagine if OTH hadn't been renewed, then we'd never found out! Terrible thought. Yeah, I'm pretty sure we'll get some NH-moments, and I can't wait to see them!
Awww, I'm glad I managed to surprise you, that's what I hoped for ;)
